Brief:
The site possesses a 4 bedroom home of heritage significance which the owner would
like to renovate, but they also need more space to accommodate their extended family.
Result:
When renovating it is almost impossible to estimate the cost accurately. This is not the
case for new structures. Thus it was decided to remove uncertainty by leaving the
existing house untouched. A new building was designed and
attached to the existing home by a louvered walkway. The pavilion was designed
to complement, but not to mimic, the heritage style of the existing cottage.
